9110 – Luzulo-Fagetum beech forests

Description:
This habitat involves pure beech forests or beech mixed with coniferous forests and can be found at 500-1400 m altitude in all Romanian Carpathians. These forests develop on mountainsides with medium-high inclination, different orientations according to the cardinal points, multiple crests and heights.

Characteristic species:
Hieracium rotundatum, speciile subaliantei Calamagrostio – Fagion (Luzula luzuloides, Calamagrostis arundinacea, Veronica officinalis, Pteridium aquilinum, Blechnum spicant), Festuca drymeia
